Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo is a clinically proven medicated dandruff shampoo. It targets the underlying cause of dandruff rather than simply washing away flakes. Containing ketoconazole 2%, it helps treat dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis, helping to relieve an itchy scalp, reduce flaking and soothe inflammation. Suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, this antifungal shampoo can also be used to treat tinea versicolor when used as directed.
Our Nizoral Dandruff Treatment 2% Shampoo 60ml contains the same clinically proven formula and is ideal if you only need a smaller bottle.
Dandruff is a common scalp condition that causes white or yellow flakes of skin to appear in your hair and on your shoulders. It can also make your scalp feel itchy, dry or irritated. Although dandruff can be persistent, it is not harmful, it is not contagious, and it is not caused by poor hygiene.
Dandruff is most commonly caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia, a naturally occurring yeast. This can cause an itchy scalp, inflammation and flakes to appear. Nizoral Dandruff Treatment Shampoo contains ketoconazole 2%, an antifungal ingredient that relieves an itchy scalp and helps target the underlying cause of dandruff to remove and prevent dandruff.
The active ingredient is Ketoconazole. 1 g of shampoo contains 20mg of Ketoconazole (2% w/w)
The other ingredients include sodium lauryl ether sulphate, disodium monolauryl ether sulphosuccinate, coconut fatty acid diethanolamide, laurdimonium hydrolysed animal collagen, macrogol 120 methyl glucose dioleate, sodium chloride, concentrated hydrochloric acid, imidurea, sodium hydroxide, erythrosine sodium (E127), purified water.
Ketoconazole is an antifungal ingredient. It is used to treat and prevent fungal infections. Ketoconazole cream can be used to treat certain fungal skin infections on the body, while Nizoral Shampoo is designed for the scalp and can also be used to treat tinea versicolor.
Always read the information provided on the box and/or leaflet.
Use Nizoral shampoo every 3-4 days for 2-4 weeks to get rid of Dandruff. To keep your scalp clear and to prevent dandruff from returning, use Nizoral Dandruff Treatment 2% w/w Shampoo once every 1 – 2 weeks.
Nizoral Dandruff Treatment Shampoo is clinically proven to target dandruff. With ketoconazole 2%, it helps relieve an itchy, flaky scalp while treating dandruff and helping to prevent it from coming back when used as directed.
Nizoral Dandruff Treatment Shampoo can also be used to treat tinea versicolor, a common fungal skin infection that causes lighter or darker patches of skin, often appearing after sun exposure. To treat tinea versicolor, apply the shampoo to the affected skin once daily for up to 5 days. For prevention before sun exposure, use it once daily for up to 3 days. Always use the product exactly as directed in the patient information leaflet.
