Asthma

Asthma is a chronic respiratory illness that can cause difficulties in breathing. Asthma is caused by inflammation and constriction (tightening) of the bronchi (airways) in the lungs. Asthma must initially be diagnosed by a GP.

Factors that can worsen asthma symptoms:-

• Allergens (e.g. pollen, dust, mould, fur, etc.)
• Exercise (common)
• Temperature and seasonal changes (extreme cold, heat)

Most patients are able to control their asthma with the use of inhalers that open their airways. The most common type of inhalers are called "Short-Acting Beta 2 Agonists", and of these, the most common one is Salbutamol (Ventolin), which we stock here at Simply Meds Online.
