What is Medi Derma-S Total Barrier Cream?

Medi Derma-S Barrier Cream provides gentle barrier protection to stop irritation from a wide range of causes. It creates a resilient hydroponic protective barrier which can be applied to both intact skin and mildly damaged skin whilst also restoring skin hydration. It can be used with dressings without affecting the adhesion of the dressings, pouch or other device.

What is a Barrier Cream?

A barrier cream is a protective cream used to protect the skin by creating a physical, hydrophobic barrier which shields the skin from irritants like moisture.

What is Medi Derma-S total barrier cream used for?

The cream prevents contact with external irritants to prevent any irritation.

The barrier cream can be used with dressings without affecting the adhesion of the dressings, pouch or other device to minimise irritation from those items. It can also be used underneath incontinence pads, as it does not block pad absorption.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Cetomacrogol Emulsifying Wax, Petrolatum, Decyl Oleate, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer (and) Acrylates/Dimethylaminoethyl
Methacrylate Copolymer, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Caprylyl Methicone, Dimethicone DMDM Hydantoin, Chlorphenesin.

How do I use Medi Derma-S Total Barrier Cream? 

Directions for use:

1. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry before application.
2. Apply a thin, uniform coating over the whole area to be protected, or where the ostomy pouch, adhesive device or applied.
3. Use a pea-sized amount of cream to cover an area approximately the size of your palm. Do NOT over-apply.
4. Remove any excess with a clean tissue.
