Pepto-Bismol Liquid Suspension is a soothing remedy used to treat heartburn, nausea, indigestion, an upset stomach, in addition to helping control diarrhoea.
The liquid creates a protective coating over the contents of the stomach so the stomach acid does not come in contact with the stomach lining or food pipe which reduces acid reflux and indigestion.
The active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol is bismuth subsalicylate. This works by limiting the amount of fluid that travels to your bowel, managing its overactivity. It also works to reduce inflammation in the intestine and kill the organisms that cause diarrhoea.
With two formulations, tablets or liquid, you can choose which best suits you.
Both tablets and liquid use the same active ingredients but in different doses:
Tablet: Bismuth Subsalicylate 262.5mg
Liquid: Bismuth Subsalicylate 525mg/3ml
