What is Peptac Aniseed Liquid?
Peptac Aniseed Liquid is a liquid to help relieve gastro-oesophageal reflux. This occurs when stomach acid flows into the food pipe, which can be caused by many different factors and the most common is just after eating. Reflux symptoms can include painful heartburn, indigestion, or acid regurgitation.

What are the active ingredients in Peptac and how do they work?
The active ingredients include sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate and they work together by preventing the acid from flowing back into the food pipe, but they are not absorbed into the bloodstream. Their effects last for about 3-4 hours on top of the stomach contents and are then broken down in the digestive system.

Not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
Peptac may not be suitable if you are on a sodium-restricted diet. Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if this applies to you.
Make sure you let your GP or Pharmacist know if you are taking any other medication or supplements as Peptac may effect how they work.
