Wegovy Pill is the new oral semaglutide version of the Wegovy Injection from Novo Nordisk, containing the same active ingredient, semaglutide, for weight management for patients with a BMI over 30 (or over 27 with weight-related conditions).
Wegovy Pill is the only oral GLP-1 tablet approved to be prescribed in the UK by the MHRA for weight management.
It’s a once-daily tablet taken first thing in the morning with a small amount of water (under 120ml), half an hour before any other medication, food or drink.
Wegovy Pill is taken orally without the need for weekly injections.
Why is Wegovy Pill Different?
It’s an oral GLP-1 treatment, using semaglutide (the same semaglutide found in Wegovy Injections).
Wegovy Pill uses SNAC technology, which helps protect semaglutide and enables it to be absorbed through the stomach lining. This allows semaglutide to be taken as a tablet rather than an injection.

1.5mg, 4mg and 9mg tablets are round and have the Novo logo printed on one side and the strength on the other. 25mg tablets are a diamond shape and slightly larger (as they contain more active ingredients), and also have the strength and Novo logo printed on them.
How Do You Take Wegovy Pill?
To help Wegovy® work as intended, follow the same simple routine every day.

Wake up and take your tablet with water.
