Trimethoprim 200mg

Trimethoprim a broad spectrum antibiotic that is particularly effective for use in cystitis and urinary tract infections (UTIs).

It works by killing off the bacteria causing the infection and thus alleviating the symptoms of cystitis.

It is particularly useful in women with a simple UTI and short 3 day course usually eradicates the infection completely. 

Recommended dose for Cystitis:- ONE TABLET to be taken TWICE A DAY (every 12 hours) for 3 days with a full glass of water.

Increasing your water intake also helps to flush the bacteria out.

Like all medicines, Trimethoprim 200mg Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. 

Trimethoprim is usually well tolerated with the majority of patients experiencing minor or no side effects but as with all antibiotics the patient can experience gastro-intestinal disturbances i.e. indigestion, diarrhoea etc.
