What is Sandrena Gel?

Sandrena gel is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) treatment that contains estradiol, an identical form of the female hormone oestrogen.

With Sandrena Gel, you can reduce menopausal symptoms like hot flushes, vaginal itching, and night sweats by giving your body a boost of oestrogen.

Within a few weeks of use, Sandrena relieves symptoms when applied directly to the skin. It comes with a prescription and comes in two different dosages that either include 0.5 mg or 1 mg of estradiol. It is recommended that women who don’t have an intact womb use this medication

The thighs and lower body are advised regions to apply the gel, and you should alternate the treatment sites each day. Clean and dry the area first. Cover an area of the skin with the gel that is 1-2 times the size of your hand. Before covering the gel with any clothing, allow it to dry for a few minutes. Also, wait at least an hour before washing the region. After each application, carefully wash your hands.

Sandrena Gel should not be applied to the breasts, face and any areas of irritated skin.

As with all medication, the use of Sandrena may cause side effects. Though rare, these side effects include:

• Itching or rash
• Increased sweating
• Swelling in feet or lower legs
• Tender or painful breasts
• Weight changes
• Headaches or migraines
• Abdominal pains
• Irregular menstrual bleeding
• Changes in mood and sex drive
