What is Ovestin Cream

Ovestin Cream is a type of HRT that contains the hormone estradiol, which is a type of oestrogen.

This HRT lotion has been created especially to help menopausal women who experience symptoms of vaginal atrophy or dryness.

The cream maintains the vagina's moisture and comfort by simulating the quantities of oestrogen that the ovaries would typically produce.

For menopausal women who have vaginal dryness but no other symptoms of the menopause, such as hot flushes, that require medical intervention, Ovestin Cream is a great option for HRT.

Use the sharp point on the cap to pierce the tube's tup for your initial application. Onto the tube's end, screw the reusable plastic applicator. Fill the applicator with cream until it reaches the red ring mark by tightly pressing the tube with both palms. Remove the applicator from the tube by unscrewing it. When you're ready to remove the applicator, slowly push the plunger all the way in the vagina while you're on your back. Use hot, soapy water to clean the applicator.

In the first 2-3 weeks, apply 1 dose up to the red mark once a day. After this time apply 1 dose up to the red mark twice a week.

As with all medication, using Ovestin may cause some side effects. Though rare, these side effects include:

• Irritation or itching around the entrance of the vagina
• Headaches
• Breast tenderness
• Nausea
• Vaginal bleeding, discharge or discomfort
• Rash
• Gallbladder problems
• Flylike symptoms
