Skinoren 20% cream 30g

Skinoren 20% cream is a white opaque cream which contains the active ingredient Azeliac acid. Azeliac acid is a naturally occurring acid which belongs to the group of medications known as dicarboxylic acids.

Azeliac acid reduces the growth of harder skin cells that block the pores, which in turn causes whiteheads and blackheads. It also works by attacking the bacteria which play an important part in causing acne. Skinoren may also help treat rosacea by reducing the swelling and redness of the skin.

Ingredients

The active substance is azelaic acid. One gram of Skinoren Cream contains 200 mg (20% w/w) of azelaic acid.

The other ingredients are: Benzoic acid (E210), cetearyl octanoate + isopropyl myristate (PCL Liquid®), glycerol 85%, propylene glycol, purified water, stearoyl macrogolglycerides, glycerol monostearate 40-55, cetostearyl alcohol.

How to use Skinoren 20% cream

• You should always follow the instructions given to you by your doctors.
• Skinoren cream should not be used for more than 12 months at a time. 
• Wash the affected well, rinse with warm water and pat dry. 
• The amount of cream needed will depend on the size of the affected area.
• Apply to the entire affected area, not just to individual spots.
• Wash hands after use.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth or angles of the nose and other sensitive areas.

You should stop using skinoren immediately and contact your doctor if you notice any signs of allergic reaction to the product.

Side effects are known to occur, although the frequency of these occurring includes local skin irritation - usually occurring at the start of treatment - scaling, pain, dryness, skin discolouration, irritation at the site of application, greasy skin, acne or loss of skin colour, tingling, dermatitis, discomfort or swelling at the site of application, cracking of the lips, vesicles, eczema, ulceration, warmth at the site of application, rash at the site of application, worsening of asthma symptoms. If any of these side effects occur, you should speak to your doctor.
