How Do I Use the MySharps Pocket Sharps Bin?

Here at SimplyMeds when you order your first dose of Mounjaro or Wegovy, you will also receive a MySharps Pocket Sharps Bin. We often get asked how to use this with your injection pen. You can also purchase a large sharps bin or additional MySharps bins here.

1.  Once you've used your injection device, slide the safety cover on the MySharps pocket container. 

2.  Insert the needle whilst it is still attached to the injection pen as far as it will allow into the grooved slot. This should hold the lip of the pen in place. 

3.  Once the needle is securely gripped, twist the pen anticlockwise to release the needle from the injection pen. 

4.  Pull the injection pen away from the needle, which should leave the needle still gripped in the grooved slot. 

5.  Using the tip of the pen, gently push the needle into the bin and out of the groove. DO NOT use your fingers for the risk of injury. 

6. Slide the safety cover back to close the bin.

❗Once full, slide to the lock position so it cannot be opened again and follow your local guidelines for disposal of sharps bins and hazardous waste or take to your local pharmacy for disposal where appropriate. ❗
