Indivina Tablets: Things you need to know

Indivina is a pill used for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and is given to menopausal women with at least three years since their last natural period. It helps to relieve the symptoms many women may feel during the menopause. 

During the menopause the level of estrogen in a woman's body drops this can cause the following symptoms:

  • Night sweats

  • Insomnia 

  • Hot flushes 

  • Loss of libido 

  • Pain during sexual intercourse 

  • Dry mucous membranes (eys, vagina, mouth)

  • Osteoporosis

  • Anxiety, irritability, depression

Use as directed by your doctor

 

All medicines can cause side effects. HRT medication can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following diseases have been reported more frequently in women taking HRT compared to women not taking them:

  • Breast cancer

  • Abnormal growth of the lining of the uterus or uterine cancer (endometrial hyperplasia or cancer)

  • Ovarian cancer

  • Blood clots in the veins of the legs or lungs (venous thromboembolism)

  • Heart disease

  • Ictus

  • Probable memory loss if HRT is started over 65 years

The following side effects may occur with this medicine:

Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 patients):

  • Headache

  • Abdominal pain

  • Back pain

  • Tenderness or pain in the breasts
