Voltarol 12 Hour 2.32% Pain Relief Gel is an Anti-Inflammatory gel used for the treatment of sprains, strains, and joint and muscle pain, including arthritis.
It contains diclofenac diethylammonium, which is one of a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and helps reduce inflammation and swelling.
This double-strength gel lasts up to 12 hours per application.

How does the active ingredient diclofenac diethylammonium work to ease aches and pains?

The 2.32% diclofenac strength, like in this Voltarol 12-hour pain relief gel, is the strongest over-the-counter Voltarol gel available in the UK. It has a higher concentration of diclofenac than the standard 1.16% Voltarol gels, which means it can be applied just twice a day (every 12 hours).
Can I use Voltarol gel if I’m pregnant?
This product should only be used during pregnancy after talking to a doctor or pharmacist. Topical diclofenac gels like Voltarol do result in only a small amount of the active ingredient entering the body, but medical guidance is still recommended. Diclofenac products are generally not advised during the last three months of pregnancy, as they can potentially affect the baby’s cardiovascular system.

Warnings and Precautions
Not suitable for use on anyone under 14 years of age.
Do not apply to cuts, wounds, sunburned skin, or other areas where the skin is abnormal, or near the eyes or nose.
Do not cover it with a bandage or plaster.
DO NOT USE IF:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains or have had an allergic reaction to any other NSAIDs.
- You are taking diclofenac or other NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen.
- You have ever had an asthma attack, wheezing, hives, or runny nose after taking these ingredients

- You have an underlying medical condition, and are taking any other medication or complementary therapy.
