What is Melatonin (Circadin tablets)

Melatonin is a natural hormone that is produced by the pineal gland in the brain and is only released at night. It is controlled by the 24-hour circadian clock, and its release tells the brain it is nighttime and time to sleep.

Circadin tablets are a synthetic higher dose of melatonin. This can help you shift to a new time zone faster.

This is not a sleeping pill and will not help you sleep once your jet lag has gone.

IMPORTANT WARNINGS

  • This is a short-term treatment for jet lag
  • DO NOT use melatonin if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have epilepsy or migraines, taking warfarin or if you have a personal or family history of psychiatric disorders.
  • AVOID alcohol and tasks that require high alertness, like driving or using machinery, within 8 hours of taking Circadin
