What are Latanoprost Eye Drops?

Latanoprost eye drops are used to treat certain kinds of glaucoma. It is also used to treat a condition called hypertension. These drops may be used alone or together with other medicines to lower pressure inside the eye that is caused by open-angle glaucoma or ocular (eye) hypertension. Xalatan is a brand of Latanoprost.
 

How does the active ingredient Latanoprost work?

Latanoprost works by increasing the outflow of fluid from the eye. As a result pressure is lowered within your eye.

Latanoprost is a prescription-only medicine and an Emergency Supply can only be issued if you are currently being prescribed this medication by your GP.  You will need to fill out a questionnaire, which is then reviewed to make sure Latanoprost is a suitable treatment for you. You will also need to upload proof that you have used this item before. If your order is approved, your Latanoprost can be sent directly to you.

Warnings and Precautions:

Always take this medication exactly as directed by your GP.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.

If you are taking or using any new medications even over-the-counter medicines whilst using Latanoprost you should make your GP aware to prevent interactions.

How do I use Latanoprost Eye Drops?

Latanoprost must be used exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure contact your GP.

Recommended starting dose is usually:

ONE drop in the affected eye once a day in the evening.

What are the side effects of Latanoprost Eye Drops?

More common

• drainage from the eyes
• longer and thicker eyelashes

Less common

• eyelash discoloration 
• feeling of having something in the eye

Incidence not known

• darkening of the eyelid skin colour
• dizziness
• headache
