What are FML Eye Drops?
 

FML contains the active ingredient Fluorometholone which which is a corticosteroid. These eye drops are used to reduce eye inflammation (redness, swelling and soreness).

How does the active ingredient Fluorometholone work?

Fluorometholone works by stopping cells from releasing various inflammatory substances that make blood vessels widen and cause the affected area to become red, swollen, itchy and painful. These drops will reduce itching, redness, pain and swelling.

FML also contains polyvinyl alcohol, which acts as a lubricant for the eye and helps to relieve discomfort in an inflamed eye.

FML is a prescription only medicine and an Emergency Supply can only be issued if you are currently being prescribed this medication by your GP.  You will need to fill out a questionnaire, which is then reviewed to make sure FML is a suitable treatment for you. You will also need to upload proof that you have used this item before. If your order is approved, your FML can be sent directly to you.

Warnings and Precautions

Always take this medication exactly as directed by your GP.

Keep out of sight and Reach of children.

If you are taking or using any new medications even over the counter medicines whilst using FML you should make your GP aware to prevent interactions.

How do I use FML Eye Drops?

FML must be used exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure contact your GP.

Recommended starting dose is usually:

ONE or TWO drops into the affected eye(s) every hour that you're awake for the first 24 to 48 hours, followed by ONE to TWO drops two to four times a day for the rest of the treatment.

What are the side effects of FML Eye Drops?

• Burning and stinging sensation when medicine is applied

• drooping upper eyelids

• feeling of having something in the eye

If you have any severe side effects seek medical assitance as soon as possible.
