What are CanesOasis Cystitis Relief Sachets?

CanesOasis, from the same company as Canesten, is a set of sachets that contain antioxidants to help relieve the burning and pain associated with urinary tract infection (Cystitis).

The 2-day course of Sodium Citrate helps to neutralise acidic urine, which causes less stinging when urinating. 

How much salt is in CanesOasis Cystitis Relief Sachets?

This medicine contains 939mg of sodium (the main component of cooking/table salt) in each sachet. This is the equivalent of 48% of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult. 

What is a Urinary Tract Infection, and what are the symptoms?

A urinary tract infection is when your bladder becomes infected with bacteria.

Symptoms of a Urinary Tract infection are:

• A burning or stinging sensation when you use the toilet.
• Needing to pass water more often than usual and more urgently.
• Pain in your lower stomach.
• Cloudy, dark, or strong-smelling urine.

Cystitis Relief Sachets Side Effects

Most people do not have any side effects while taking this medicine. However, if you experience any side effects or anything unusual happens, stop taking the medicine immediately, and see your doctor of pharmacist. 

• Can cause an increase in blood sodium. A precaution to be aware of if you are taking blood pressure medications.  
• Not to be used by patients who may have kidney failure
• Passing water more frequently

Warnings and Precautions 

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Read the package leaflet before use.
• Do not use if the expiration date printed on the carton has passed.
• This is not suitable for use by men or children.
• This is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Do not take if you have an allergy to sodium citrate or any of the other listed ingredients. 

Not suitable for people with:

• Heart disease
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• A history of kidney disease
• Are on a low sodium (salt) diet

Ingredients

Active ingredients: each 5.6g sachet contains sodium citrate dihydrate 4.0g.

Other ingredients: Sucrose (sugar) 1.5g, colloidal anhydrous silica, saccharin sodium and cranberry flavouring.

How do I use CanesOasis Cystitis Relief 6 Sachets?

Dosage:

For Adult Women Only:

Dissolve the contents of each sachet in a glass of water (200 ml) and drink straight away.

Take the contents of ONE sachet three times a day for two days.

This medicine is NOT to be used by Men or Children.

Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms worsen after the 2-day course is completed, consult with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not repeat the treatment without medical advice. 
 

What are the side effects of CanesOasis Cystitis Relief 6 Sachets?

Possible side effects:

• Can cause an increase in blood sodium which should be considered if you are taking blood pressure medication.
• Should not be used by patients with Kidney Failure.
