What is VSL#3 Concentrated Probiotic?

VSL#3 is a highly concentrated food supplement containing 8 diverse bacteria strains, selected to survive the stomach in order to colonise the gut to help improve and maintain a healthy digestive system. 

With 450 Billion bacteria per sachet, VSL#3 is one of the world's most concentrated probiotics with live freeze-dried bacteria. These help digest your food, helping to aid your gut health by keeping the good and bad bacteria in check. 

This product is Soy, Gluten, Lactose, and Milk free. 

How To Store VSL#3 Probiotics

VSL#3 needs to be stored in a refrigerator (2-8°C) as it contains live freeze-dried bacteria. You can keep sachets outside of the fridge for up to seven days (up to 25°C), but after this time period, they need to be stored in the fridge. 

How To Take VSL#3 Probiotics

Simply open one sachet and add it to a cold non-fizzy drink, or sprinkle it onto cold food to start your day. Stomach acid tends to be lower first thing in the morning, making it the perfect time to take VSL#3 Probiotics. 

When first starting VSL#3 it is recommended you take half a sachet for the first 2-3 days to acclimatise your gut. The recommended daily intake is 1-2 sachets a day. Most people will take one sachet a day for 2 weeks and then adjust as needed. 

VSL#3 is believed to be compatible with all types of drugs. If you take it with antibiotics, it will not harm you but the activity of the bacteria in VSL#3 may be reduced as the antibiotics can inactivate the bacteria in VSL#3.

What are the Side Effects of VSL#3?

When you start taking VSL#3, you may experience bloating while your digestive tract adjusts to the additional bacteria in VSL#3. If you experience bloating, you may need to reduce your daily intake to allow for this adjustment.
