What are Clopidogrel Tablets?
 

Clopidogrel is a platelet inhibitor it can be used alone or together with aspirin to lessen the chance of a heart attack or stroke. 

How does Clopidogrel work as a treatment for Cardiovascular diseases?

Clopidogrel works by reducing the chance of a harmful blood clot forming. It does this by preventing platelets from clumping together in the blood. By preventing blood clots; heart attack or stroke are also prevented.
 

Who is usually prescribed Clopidogrel?

• Acute coronary syndrome 

• Patients who have already had a heart attack, severe chest pain, or a stroke

• Patients with other circulation problems (peripheral arterial disease) that could cause a stroke or heart attack.

What are Cardiovascular Diseases?

Cardiovascular disease includes numerous problems that affect the heart and blood vessels. A person with cardiovascular disease may be symptomatic or asymptomatic.

• Heart squeezing (tightening) and relaxation difficulties
• Heart and blood vessel problems from birth
• Problems with your heart’s outer lining

Emergency supplys of Clopidogrel:

Clopidogrel is a prescription only medicine and an Emergency Supply can only be issued if you are currently being prescribed this medication by your GP for Cardiovascular diseases.  You will need to fill out a questionnaire, which is then reviewed to make sure Clopidogrel is a suitable treatment for you. You will also need to upload proof that you have used this item before. If your order is approved, your Clopidogrel can be sent directly to you.

Warnings and Precautions:

Always take this medication exactly as directed by your GP.

Keep out of sight and Reach of children.

If you are taking any new medications even over the counter medicines whilst taking Clopidogrel you should make your GP aware to prevent interactions.

How do I take Clopdogrel 75mg Tablets?

Clopidogrel must be used exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure contact your GP.

Recommended starting dose is usually:

ONE tablet DAILY

Your doctor may adjust your dose as needed.
 

• You can take this medicine before or after meals.
• It should be taken at the same time each day, with a glass of water.

What are the side effects of Clopidogrel 75mg Tablets?

Common side effects:

• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Indigestion, or burning

Uncommon side effects:

• Headache
• Stomach ulcer 
• Vomiting
• Nausea
• Constipation
• Excess gas in the stomach or intestine
• Rashes
• Itching 
• Dizziness
• Tingling sensation
• Numbness

Rare side effects:

• Vertigo
• Increase in breasts in males
