What is Clarinaze 0.05% Allergy Control Nasal Spray?

 

Clarinaze nasal spray helps to relieve hayfever and allergy symptoms, including runny noses, sneezing, and nasal congestion.

 

Containing a corticosteroid known as mometasone furoate, Clarinaze blocks the release of certain natural substances that trigger allergy symptoms. This reduces inflammation in the nose.

 

In addition to hayfever, Clarinaze also targets: 

  • Pet allergies
  • Mould allergies
  • Dust allergies 

 

Warnings and Precautions

  • Only use in the nose
  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children
  • Read the package leaflet before use

 

DO NOT USE:

  • If you are under 18 years old
  • If you are allergic to any of the ingredients Clarinaze contains
  • You have an untreated infection in your nose, as this can worsen the infection
  • You have recently had an operation on your nose or have injured your nose. Wait until your nose has healed before using this product

 

Speak to your GP or our pharmacist before using: 

  • You have been continuously using it for more than 3 months without consulting your GP
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding 
  • If you have or have ever had tuberculosis
  • If you have any other infections
  • If you are taking other corticosteroids, either by mouth or injection
  • If you have cystic fibrosis

 

While you are using this product, speak to your GP or pharmacist if you experience any of the following:

  • Your immune system is not functioning well and you come into contact with someone who has measles or chickenpox. (Avoid coming into contact with either of these conditions while using this product)
  • You have an infection of the nose or throat
  • You have persistent irritation to the nose or throat
  • You have experienced blurred vision or other visual disturbances

 

Ingredients

  • Active Ingredient: mometasone furoate.
  • Other Ingredients: dispersible cellulose, glycerol, sodium citrate, citric acid monohydrate, polysorbate 80, benzalkonium chloride, purified water.

 

 

 

How do I use Clarinaze 0.05% Allergy Control Nasal Spray?

 

Only to be used by adults aged 18 years and over.

 

Directions for use: 

  • Use only in the nose
  • Shake gently before use
  • Prime by pumping 10 times before initial use, or 2 times if unused for 14 days or more, until a fine mist is produced 
  • TWO sprays into each nostril once a day. Once symptoms are under control, reduce the dose to ONE spray in each nostril once a day.

 

 

What are the side effects of Clarinaze 0.05% Allergy Control Nasal Spray?

 

Common side effects of taking this medicine, that may affect up to 1 in 10 people, include:

  • Headache
  • Sneezing
  • Nose bleeds
  • Sore nose or throat
  • Ulcers in the nose
  • Respiratory tract infection

 

Stop using Clarinaze and seek immediate medical help if you develop:

  • Wheezing/trouble breathing
  • Swollen face, tongue, or pharynx 
  • Trouble swallowing 
  • Hives
