Zindaclin is a topical acne treatment that contains the antibiotic Clindamycin. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from growing on the skin. Harmful bacteria growing on the skin can cause the pores to be blocked, resulting in acne outbreaks. The gel can also reduce skin irritation, redness and inflamed skin.
You should only ever use one antibiotic acne treatment at a time, so Zindaclin should not be combined with other oral or topical antibiotic treatments. Particularly those that already contain Clindamycin.
Zindaclin gel must be applied directly to the whole area of the affected skin once a day.
Before applying the gel, wash the affected skin, rinse with warm water and pat the skin dry.
Apply a small amount of gel in a thin layer to the entire area affected with spots and not the spots individually.
You need to continue using the treatment for the whole course that you have been prescribed to avoid the acne from quickly returning.
Zindaclin Gel can cause some people to experience side effects. Side effects are usually mild and can be relieved by applying an oil-free moisturiser to the affected areas of skin.
You may experience the following side effects:
If you are worried about any side effects, experience diarrhoea, or side effects do not improve over time you should speak to a doctor for advice.
Please make sure you read the Patient Information Leaflet thoroughly before using Zindaclin Gel and for a full list of side effects.
