What is Conotrane Cream?

Conotrane cream can be used for the treatment of nappy rash and to protect the skin from moisture, irritants, and chafing. It is used for elderly people who have bedsores or incontinence and are likely to get a urinary rash from the skin being in prolonged contact with urine. Conotrane can also be a treatment for the nappy rash to protect the skin from moisture, irritants, and chafing. This cream forms a thin layer over the skin which protects and promotes the healing of the skin.

What are the active ingredients in Conotrane Cream?

Conotrane cream contains two active ingredients: dimeticone and benzalkonium chloride. 

Dimeticone:

Silicone fluid is a water-repellent. When applied to the skin it creates a barrier between the skin and water or any other water-soluble skin irritants.

Benzalkonium chloride:

An antiseptic that is effective against a wide range of bacteria and yeast (fungal) infections, that are often present with nappy rash.

This cream forms a thin layer over the skin which protects and promotes the healing of the skin.

Warnings and Precautions

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.
• For external use only.
• Do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed.
• Conotrane contains Paraffin which is a highly flammable ingredient, so do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this product. You should also be aware that any fabrics that come into contacts with this cream, such as clothing, bedding, bandages, or dressings, will burn more easily. Stay away from sources of ignition, make sure bandages and dressings are changed regularly, and change and wash your clothes and bedding to help reduce the build-up of product.

Do not use if:

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains.

Speak to your GP or our pharmacist before use if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ingredients

Benzalkonium chloride, dimeticone, cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether, white soft paraffin, light liquid paraffin, macrogol, potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate, geranium, and water.

How do I apply Conotrane Cream?

Directions:

Apply the cream to the affected area several times a day when needed.

• Always follow the instructions on how to use Conotrane Antiseptic Soothing Cream carefully
• Do not overuse the cream as this could cause skin irritation and other unwanted side effects.

What are the side effects of Conotrane Cream?

Conotrane Cream Side Effects can occur but that does not mean everybody who uses it will get them and if they do, they are usually mild.

Some Conotrane Cream Side Effects include:

• Burning sensation
• Skin Irritation
• Redness
• Rashes
