Daktarin Sugar-Free Oral Gel is an antifungal treatment formulated to relieve fungal (yeast) infections of the mouth and throat, such as oral thrush. The gel’s sugar-free, orange-flavoured formulation helps reduce fungal growth and soothes oral discomfort in adults and children aged 4 months and older. The active ingredient in Daktarin Sugar-Free Oral Gel is miconazole.
Also Available:
The gel delivers miconazole directly to affected areas, allowing it to stay in contact with the mouth lining and gradually clear the fungal infection.
The gel format allows miconazole to coat the inside of the mouth, giving longer contact time with the affected areas and improving treatment effectiveness.
Effective antifungal action – Contains miconazole to destroy fungus causing oral and throat infections.
Sugar-free and flavoured – Sugar-free and orange flavoured for easier administration, including in children.
Suitable for infants to adults – Licensed for use in infants from 4 months old, children and adults.
Direct oral application – Gel can be applied directly to affected areas or held in the mouth to treat oral candidosis.
Helps treat oral thrush – Provides relief of symptoms like soreness, irritation or white patches associated with fungal mouth infections.
Friction-free administration – Soft gel texture makes it easier to apply inside the mouth compared with creams or tablets.
Infants (4 – 24 months): apply 1.25 ml of gel four times daily after meals; divide dose into smaller portions and apply to affected areas with a clean finger.
Children (2 years and over) and adults: apply 2.5 ml four times daily after meals. Keep gel in mouth as long as possible; avoid swallowing immediately. If wearing dentures, remove at bedtime and apply gel to dentures.
Miconazole (active), plus excipients appropriate for a preservative-free, sugar-free oral gel.
For oral use only. Do not use if you are allergic to miconazole or other imidazole-type antifungals. Use with caution if you take anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin) or medications metabolised by liver enzymes. Not recommended for infants under 4 months. Do not apply to damaged or bleeding oral mucosa. Do not exceed recommended dose.
If symptoms persist beyond 7 days or worsen, seek medical advice. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if allergic reaction occurs (rash, swelling, breathing difficulties).
