How the active ingredients in Anusol HC Plus ointment work:

Anusol contains 5 active ingredients that work together to treat and soothe uncomfortable symptoms of haemorrhoids:

• Hydrocortisone acetate: a mild steroid which helps to reduce inflammation 
• Zinc oxide and Bismuth salts: mild astringent and antiseptic ingredients that can soothe and protect raw areas
• Balsam Peru: a mild antiseptic that can protect sore areas and may help healing
• Benzyl Benzoate: has mild antiseptic properties

Warnings and Precautions:

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

DO NOT USE IF:

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients
• You have fungal, viral or bacterial skin sores
• You are pregnant or breast-feeding
• You under 18 years old.

Speak to your pharmacist or GP first if:

• You have rectal bleeding or blood in the stool or if you have any doubt whether any bleeding you have is experienced is caused by piles
• Your symptoms worsen or do not improve after you have used the medicine for 7 days
• You are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription including corticosteroids

Ingredients:

Active ingredients: Hydrocortisone Acetate, Zinc Oxide, Bismuth subgallate, Balsam Peru, Bismuth Oxide and Benzyl Benzoate.

Other ingredients: Magnesium Stearate, Cocoa Butter, lanolin Anhydrous, Castor Oil, Kaolin Light, Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate, Petroleum Jelly White.

How do I use Anusol Plus HC Ointment?

Directions: 

Apply directly to the areas affected by piles up to 4 times a day for 7 days. Wash your hands before and after use.

Before Use:

• Wash hands.
• Wash the anal area gently and pat dry.

For external piles:

• Apply ointment using a gauze dressing.

For internal piles:

• After washing and drying screw the nozzle provided onto the tube and insert it into the anus, squeezing gently.
• Allow to dry. Clean hands and nozzle carefully after each use.

 
Do not use it more than 4 times a day.

Do not use it for more than 7 consecutive days.

What are the side effects of Anusol Plus HC Ointment?

Side effects when using Anusol Plus HC are rare and usually mild. If you do experience any adverse reactions you should stop using this product.
