Common symptoms of Iron-Deficiency Anaemia are tiredness, lethargy, feeling faint and becoming breathless easily. These are all caused by reduced amounts of oxygen in the body.

The usual dosage of ferrous sulfate for iron deficiency is three times daily, one hour before or two hours after meals. However, your doctor may advise a lower dosage for you if you are older or if you develop significant gastrointestinal side effects. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Do not lie down immediately after taking medicine, to make sure the pills have gone through the esophagus into the stomach. Notify your healthcare provider if you experience painful swallowing or feel that the medicine is sticking in your throat.
