Diastix Reagent Strips for Urinalysis x50

DIASTIX Reagent Strips can alert you and your doctor to changes in your condition for which adjustments in your diet and/or medication may be needed. When dipped in urine, the test area changes colour if glucose is present in the urine.

You should use:

1. When you have a cold, the flu, or any other kind of illness

2. When you feel the signs of high blood sugar (over 13.3 mmol/L) or when your blood sugar is over the range your doctor had set for you (if you monitor your blood glucose)

3. When you are under stress (e.g. at home, school, or work)

4. Regularly during pregnancy or after a testing pattern has been established with your healthcare team

1. Gather supplies such as a cup for urine samples, a ketostix, and a watch/timer

2. Wash your hands with soap and water

3. Remove the strip from the plastic packaging carefully without breaking or damaging the strip

4. Collect a urine sample in the cup – the cup must be clean and dry

5. Dip the test end of the strip into the urine and remove it quickly

6. After 10 seconds, check the test strip’s color and match it with the color chart that comes with the package

7. Disregard any test results after the 10 seconds
