Tresiba FlexTouch 100U/ml Prefilled Pens
Tresiba FlexTouch 200U/ml Prefilled Pens
Tresiba contains the active ingredients Insulin Degludec. This is a treatment for diabetes mellitus used with proper diet and exercise to treat high blood sugar levels.
Insulin degludec is a long-acting insulin that works slowly, over about 24 hours. Insulin is one of many hormones that help the body turn the food we eat into energy. This is done by using the sugar in the blood as quick energy.
Insulin also helps us store energy that we can use later. Like other types of insulin, insulin degludec is used to keep your blood sugar level close to normal. This works to help keep blood sugar levels under control.
Diabetes mellitus refers to a group of diseases that affect how your body uses blood sugar (glucose).
The cause of diabetes varies by type. However, no matter what type of diabetes you have, it can lead to excess sugar in your blood and to much sugar in your blood can lead to serious health problems.
Chronic diabetes: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
Potentially reversible diabetes: Prediabetes and gestational diabetes.
Gestational diabetes: occurs during pregnancy but may resolve after the baby is delivered.
