What is Benylin Children's Chesty Cough 6+ 125ml?

Benylin Children's Chesty Cough 6+ 125ml provides effective relief from children's chesty coughs without causing drowsiness.

It is sugar free and strawberry flavored.

Chesty coughs are caused by a build-up of phlegm and the cough mechanism kicks in to try and get rid of this excess phlegm to get it out of the body.

This cough mixture contains Guaifenesin 50mg which will help thin and loosen the mucus.

Warnings and Precautions

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Read the package leaflet before use.
• Do not use it if the expiration date printed on the carton and bottle has passed.

Do not use if:

• Your child is aged 6 or under.
• Your child has had any allergies to the ingredients this medication contains
• Your child is taking any other cough and cold medicine
• Your child experiences allergic reactions including (severe) skin rashes and itching or sickness and nausea, stop using the medicine and seek immediate help.

Consult the child's GP or Pharmacist before using if?

• Your child suffers from kidney or liver problems
• Your child has a persistent cough such as occurs with asthma, has asthma, is suffering from an asthma attack, or has a cough that produces a lot of mucus (phlegm).
• You are currently pregnant, likely to get pregnant, or breastfeeding.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Guaifenesin

Other ingredients: glycerol, sorbitol liquid (E420), carmellose sodium, sodium citrate, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate (E211), citric acid monohydrate, strawberry flavor, and water.

How do I take Benylin Chesty Cough 6+?

Dosage:

Children 6-12 years: Give two 5ml spoonfuls four times a day as needed.

Do not give more than 4 doses in 24 hours.

If symptoms persist or worsen, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not give to a child under 12 years of age for more than 5 days without consulting your doctor.

This medicine is not recommended for children under 6 years old.

What are the side effects of Benylin Chesty Cough 6+?

Benylin chesty coughs 6+ side effects are usually very minor.

The list below is some of the side effects that may be associated with Benylin children's chesty coughs 6+.

• Abdominal pain.

• Diarrhea

• Feeling sick

• Vomiting.

• Allergic reactions such as a rash or itching. Stop using the cough syrup and get medical advice if you think your child has had an allergic reaction to it.
