What are Cystopurin Cystitis Sachets?

Cystopurin granules provide fast relief from the symptoms of Cystitis and bladder infection. They have a natural cranberry flavour and are low in salt. Each pack contains 6 sachets, enough to treat cystitis within 48 hours.

Cystopurin works by neutralising your urine, making it less acidic and thus reducing the burning and stinging pain when you pass urine. 

What is an Urinary Tract Infection and what are the symptoms?

A urinary tract infection is when your bladder becomes infected with bacteria.

Symptoms of a Urinary Tract infection are:

• A burning or stinging sensation when you use the toilet.

• Needing to pass water more often than usual and more urgently.

• Pain in your lower stomach.

• Cloudy, dark, or strong-smelling urine.

Warnings and Precautions

• Not suitable for use in men

• Not suitable for children under six years.

• Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised to do so by your GP.

• This medicine contains potassium. Not suitable for patients using blood pressure medicines, suffering from high blood pressure, or using potassium sparing diuretics.

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Do not take Cystopurin:

• If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Potassium citrate

• If you have a history of kidney disease.

Before taking Cystopurin, consult your doctor if any of the following occur to you:

• A history of heart problems

• Urine that is dark or cloudy, or has blood in it

• Unusually heavy vaginal discharge

• Stomach, groin or back pain

• High body temperature and general tiredness

• You are sensitive or allergic to aspartame

Do not if you are allergic to any of the ingredients this medicine contains.

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Potassium citrate 3g

Other ingredients: Mannitol (E421), Citric acid (E330), Aspartame (E951), natural Cranberry flavours (flavours contain Cranberry extracts with Sugar and Ethanol). Contains a source of Phenylalanine.

How do I take Cystopurin Cystitis Sachets?

Dosage:

Starting Cystopurin treatment at the first signs of cystitis will usually help you feel better within a few hours.

Cystopurin is taken as a drink. Adults and children aged 6 years and above: Empty the contents of one sachet into a small glass of cold water and stir to dissolve. Take one sachet dissolved in water, three times a day for two days.

All six sachets must be taken to complete the course of treatment.

If symptoms persist longer than the 48-hour treatment you should consult your doctor.

What are the side effects of Cystopurin Cystitis Sachets?

Possible side effects:

• There could be stomach irritation when using these sachets.
