What is the 5ml Oral Medicine Syringe?

Ensure safe and accurate medicine dosing every time using an oral syringe, with clear measurement markers and a purple plunger for easy use.

The syringe comes with a bottle adapter to prevent accidental withdrawal of the plunger rod.

How to use:

1. Fit the bottle adaptor firmly into the neck of the medicine bottle.
2. Empty syringe and draw out plunger to dosage mark required.
3. Fit the syringe into bottle adaptor and invert bottle.
4. Push in plunger fully and then slowly draw out medicine to dosage mark required.
5. Check for any air bubbles in the syringe; if any are present, repeat step 4 until bubbles disappear.
6. To measure dose accurately, line the end back ring on the plunger with the required dosage mark.
7. Place medicine bottle upright and remove syringe. Check dosage accurately again.
8. Check patient is sitting or held upright before giving medicine. 
9. Place syringe towards inside of cheek and slowly push the plunger, giving the patient time to swallow. Rapid squirting of medicine can cause choking.
10. Remove bottle adaptor and replace cap securely on medicine bottle. ALWAYS KEEP MEDICINES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. 

Cleaning Instructions

Wash the syringe and adaptor after every use with warm soapy water, rinsing and drying thoroughly. 

For the syringe: draw the plunger in and out several times in fresh soapy water - to clear all traces of medicine from inside the barrel. Repeat in clean water to rinse. 

For the Adaptor: remove from the bottle and wash in fresh soapy water, then rinse in clean water. Shake off excess and dry before storing.

Only use warm, soapy water to wash the syringe, as some cleaning fluids remove the dose markings.

Storage and Safety Advice

Some medicines may degrade the syringe parts more quickly.

Inspect syringe before each use, and discard if any signs of wear, damage, or defect are visible.

It is recommended that the syringe is only used up to a maximum of 25 times.

DO NOT PLACE THIS ITEM IN A FREEZER, AUTOCLAVE, STEAM STERILISER, OR MICROWAVE.

If required, sterilise with cold water, sterilising only.
