What is Movicol Ease Flavour Free?

Movicol Ease Flavour Free is a plain, osmotic laxative used for the relief of constipation.

What is an Osmotic Laxative?

An osmotic laxative draws water from the body into the large intestine. This softens stools and makes it easier to pass them. Other examples are Lactulose, Laxido and Milk of Magnesia.

Treatment with Movicol Ease Flavour Free usually lasts for about 5 days. When regular bowel movements return, use fewer doses per day and usually, treatment can be stopped.

Ingredients

Each sachet contains:

• Macrogol 3350: 13.125 g
• Sodium chloride: 350.7 mg
• Sodium hydrogen carbonate: 178.5 mg
• Potassium chloride: 50.2 mg

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

For oral use only. This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 years of age.

DOSAGE

For adults aged 18 years and above, including pregnant and breastfeeding women (see below), dose is 1-3 sachets per day.

Dissolve one sachet in 125ml (1/4 pint) water 1-3 times per day. 

This should be taken in divided doses throughout the day according to the severity of your constipation.

Reconstituted solution: Store covered in a refrigerator (2°C - 8°C) for up to 6 hours

Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are taking other medicines.
• Your constipation needs treatment for longer than 5 days.
• You have persistent abdominal pain or are passing blood.

Do not take if a doctor says you have:

• A blockage in your intestine.
• A perforation (hole) in the wall of your intestine.
• Severe inflammatory conditions of the intestinal tract.
• An allergy to any ingredients.

Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to take.
