Eliquis Tablets are available in two strengths: 2.5mg and 5mg.
Eliquis (Apixaban) is a medicine known as an anticoagulant. It can be used to prevent or treat deep vein thrombosis and it is also used to prevent stroke and blood clots in patients with certain heart rhythm problems.
Apixaban works by decreasing the clotting ability of the blood and helps prevent harmful clots from forming in the blood vessels. It also makes the blood flow through your veins a lot easier.
Cardiovascular disease includes numerous problems that effect the heart and blood vessels. A person with cardiovascular disease may be symptomatic or be asymptomatic.

Eliquis is a prescription only medicine and an Emergency Supply can only be issued if you are currently being prescribed this medication by your GP for Cardiovascular diseases. You will need to fill out a questionnaire, which is then reviewed to make sure Eliquis is a suitable treatment for you. You will also need to upload proof that you have used this item before. If your order is approved, your Eliquis can be sent directly to you.

Active ingredients: Apixaban
Apixaban must be used exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are unsure contact your GP.
Recommended starting dose is usually:
ONE tablet TWICE a day
Duration of treatment depends on what these are used for and is advised by your GP.
Your GP may adjust your dose as needed.
You can take this medicine before or after meals.
It should be taken at the same time each day, with a glass of water.
Common side effects:
Bleeding that includes:
In the eyes
in the stomach or intestine
rectum
blood in the urine
of the nose
gums
bruising and swelling
Anemia, tiredness or paleness
Low blood pressure that may cause fainting or a faster heartbeat
Nausea
Blood tests can show:
an increase in gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)
Uncommon side effects:
Bleeding:
in the brain or spinal column
in the mouth or coughing up blood
in the abdomen, or vagina
bright/red blood in the stool
bleeding after your operation including bruising and swelling, discharge of blood or fluid from the wound / surgical incision, or injection site
hemorrhoidal
tests showing blood in the stool or urine
Decreased number of platelets in the blood (which can affect clotting)
Blood tests can show:
abnormal liver function
increased liver enzymes
increased bilirubin, a product derived from red blood cells, that can cause yellowing of the skin and eyes.
Acne
Itchiness
Hair loss
NOTE: Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) that can produce swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, and/or throat and difficulty breathing. Speak to your GP immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
Rare side effects:
Bleeding:
in the lungs or throat
within the space behind the abdominal cavity
in a muscle
Common side effects:
Bleeding that includes:
of the nose
gums
blood in the urine
bruising and swelling
stomach, intestine or rectum
in the mouth
vaginal
Anemia, which can cause tiredness or paleness
Decreased number of platelets in the blood (which can affect clotting)
Nausea (feeling sick)
Acne
Blood tests can show:- an increase in gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) or alanine aminotransferase (GPT)
Uncommon side effects:
Low blood pressure that may cause fainting or a faster heartbeat
Bleeding:
In the eyes
in the mouth or coughing up blood
bright/red blood in the stool
tests showing blood in the stool or urine
bleeding after an operation including bruising and swelling, discharge of blood or fluid from the wound / surgical incision (suppuration), or injection site
hemorrhoidal
in a muscle
Itchiness
Hair loss
NOTE: Allergic reactions (hypersensitivity) that can produce swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue and/or throat and difficulty breathing. Tell your GP immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
