What is Simple Linctus?

Simple Linctus is a cough linctus used to help with dry and irritating coughs.

What is the active ingredient in Simple Linctus and how does it work?

The active ingredient in simple linctus is citric acid monohydrate. Citric acid works by coating the throat, relieving the effects of cough and soothing the throat. Citric acid is found naturally in the body and is often used as a pH-control agent in certain types of food.

Warnings and Precautions

• Not suitable for anyone under 12 years of age
• Not suitable for those who suffer from alcoholism due to ethanol
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children
• Read the package leaflet before use
• Do not use it if the expiration date printed on the bottle has passed

Do not use if:

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains 

Speak to your GP or Pharmacist before use if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have diabetes
• You have epilepsy or liver disease

Ingredients

Active Ingredient per 5ml: Citric Acid Monohydrate 125mg (E330)

Other ingredients: Chloroform, Anise Oil, Ethanol, Glycerol (E422), Syrup (includes Sucrose), and Purified Water

How do I take Simple Linctus?

Dosage:

Over 12 years old:

ONE 5ml spoonful up to 4 times a day if required.

Not recommended for children Under 12 years.

What are the side effects of Simple Linctus?

When taken as recommended at the normal dose, there are no known side effects with this product.

If taken excessively above the stated dose, glycerol in the product may cause headache, stomach upset, and diarrhoea.

If you notice these or any other side effects, stop using the product and tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Any concerns or queries regarding any side effects this medicine has caused or could cause you can call your GP or our pharmacist.

If you have any severe side effects, stop use immediately and seek medical assistance as soon as possible.
