What are the active ingredients in Dentinox Cradle Cap Shampoo and what does it do?

Dentinox cradle cap shampoo contains the active ingredients sodium lauryl ether sulfosuccinate and sodium lauryl ether sulfate, which is in a group of medicines known as cleansing surfactants. These ingredients work to soften scaly patches and remove excess oil from your baby's scalp.

What is Cradle Cap?

Cradle Cap is a common condition that affects young children and babies. It is a type of seborrheic dermatitis. It often appears as yellow, greasy, thick scaly patches of skin. The appearance can be shocking but it is a common ailment affecting many children.

Warnings and Precautions

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

• For external use only.

• It is recommended that you do a 24-hour patch test before doing a full application. If a reaction occurs DO NOT USE.

• Weeping wounds should be reported to your GP as soon as possible.

Do not use if:

• Your baby/child is allergic to any of the ingredients this product contains.

• The skin on the scalp is broken, or there are signs of an infection like redness or oozing.

• There are signs of atopic eczema such as itching, erythema, blistering/swelling, skin cracking, dryness, or exfoliation. 

Speak to your GP before use if:

• You are using any other products for the cradle cap.

Active Ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfo-Succinate 6% and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate 2.7%,

Other ingredients: Sodium Salt of Coconut Imidazoline, Polyoxyethylene Rapeseedamide, Sodium Chloride, Dilute Hydrochloric Acid, Rose Perfume, and Water

How do I use Dentinox Cradle Cap Treatment Shampoo?

Directions:

1. Before beginning to apply the shampoo, brush the hair with a soft brush to loosen the flakes.

2. Wet your baby’s head with warm water.

3. Gently massage 1⁄2 teaspoon (2-3ml) of shampoo over the whole scalp.

4. ​​​​​​Rinse off and repeat for a second round.

5. Rinse well.

6. Gently dry.

• Do not worry about touching the soft scalp.

• Do not massage excessively or use hot water.

The most common side effects of Dentinox Cradle Cap Shampoo are:

• Scalp redness

• Skin sensitivity
