What are Guardium Tablets?

Guardium contains the active ingredient Esomeprazole, and is perfect for over 18s who experience regular heartburn and want a way to soothe their symptoms by going straight to the source.

These tablets provide all day relief from heartburn and acid reflux for people who suffer with frequent symptoms. They work by blocking the acid  that pumps in the stomach. This reduces the acid build up in the stomach and therefore reduces heartburn systems. This product can be used with Gaviscon Advance for instant relief should you need it. 

Warnings and Precautions

If pregnant these tablets aren't to be used unless advised by a GP to do so.

Do not use these tablets if:

• You are under the age of 18 years

• You are breastfeeding

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients these tablets contain

Speak to your GP before taking if:

• You have ever had a stomach ulcer or stomach surgery

• You have been taking heartburn medicine for over 4 weeks

• You have jaundice or severe liver problems

• You have severe kidney problems

• You are over 55 and your acid reflux symptoms have changed, or you need to take a non-prescription heartburn remedy every day

• You have ever had a skin reaction after taking any other similar treatment

• You are due to have an endoscopy or a urea breath test

• You are due to take a specific blood test (Chromogranin A)

• You are suffering from heavy weight loss for no reason

• You are suffering from pain or problems while swallowing

• You are suffering from stomach pain or signs of indigestion, especially after food intake

• You are beginning to vomit food or blood, which may look like dark coffee grounds

• You are passing black or blood-stained stools

• You are suffering from severe, persistent diarrhoea

• You are suffering from Skin rash, especially after your skin has been exposed to sunlight

Ingredients

Active ingredient: esomeprazole. Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg esomeprazole (as esomeprazole magnesium).

Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, Macrogol 8000, Lactose monohydrate, Talc (E 553b), Methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer, Copovidone K 28, Crospovidone, Sucrose, Povidone K 90, Maize starch, Magnesium oxide, light (E 530), Silica colloidal, anhydrous, Magnesium stearate, Diethyl phthalate, Polysorbate 80, Ethylcellulose, Sodium laurilsulfate, Hypromellose (E464), Titanium dioxide (E 171), Iron oxide red (E172), Shellac glaze, Iron oxide black (E172) and Propylene glycol.

How do I take Guardium Tablets?

Dosage:

18 years and over: Take ONE tablet once a day for up to 14 days.

Under 18 years: not recommended.

What are the side effects of Guardium Tablets?

The most common side-effects are headache and stomach upset. These effects are generally mild and soon pass.

If you have any severe side effects stop use immediately and seek medical assitance as soon as possible.
