What are Syndol Tablets?

Syndol Tablets can provide effective relief from headaches, tension headaches, migraines, toothache, and muscular and rheumatic aches.

Syndol is designed for short-term treatment of acute moderate pain where paracetamol, ibuprofen, or aspirin alone are not effective.

What are the active ingredients in Syndol Tablets and what do they do?

1. Paracetamol: This is a painkiller for everyday aches and pains.

2. Codeine: This is part of a group of medications known as opioid analgesics, which means it works to ease pains that aren’t managed by painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol alone.

3. Doxylamine succinate: This is an antihistamine, which works to reduce irritation and allergy symptoms.

4. Caffeine: This is a stimulant that works to make paracetamol work more effectively.

Warnings and Precautions

Not suitable for anyone 12 years of age
 

Do not drive or use heavy machinery if you suffer from drowsiness, wait until these symptoms clear

Do not use if: 

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients these tablets contain
• You have acute asthma, severe respiratory disease
• You suffer from alcoholism
• You have had recent Gallstone surgery
• You suffer from paralytic ileus, where your bowel has ceased to function
• You have recently had a head injury or raised pressure in the skull
• You are breastfeeding
• You have been told by your GP that you are a CYP2D6 ultra metaboliser 
• You are under 18 years old and have had your tonsils or adenoids removed

Speak to your GP or Pharmacist before use if:

• You suffer from kidney or liver problems
• You have an enlarged prostate gland
• You suffer from low blood pressure
• You suffer from inflammatory or obstructive bowel disorders
• You have an underactive thyroid gland
• You are elderly or debilitated
• You are pregnant or planning to have a baby
• You are under the age of 18 and have had your tonsils or adenoids removed due to Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome

Ingredients

Active ingredients: Caffeine, Codeine, Paracetamol

Other Ingredients: Povidone, croscarmellose sodium, pregelatinised maize starch, magnesium stearate, talc, and water. The tablet film coating contains lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol 4000; quinoline yellow (E104), and sunset yellow (E110).

How do I take Syndol Tablets?

Dosage:

DO NOT take less than 4 after taking other pain killers

Adults: Take One or Two tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed for relief.

DO NOT exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Children aged 16 to 18 years: Take One or Two tablets every 6 hours, as needed for relief.

DO NOT exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.

Children aged 12 to 15 years: Take One tablet every 6 hours, as needed for relief. 

DO NOT exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours.

DO NOT GIVE TO CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD

What are the side effects of Syndol Tablets?

Possible side effects:

• Constipation, stomach cramps, feeling sick, and vomiting
• Dizziness, lightheadedness, disorientation, drowsiness, headache, tremor, nervousness, confusion, irritability, restlessness, anxiety, mood changes, vertigo
• Difficulty passing water, needing to pass urine more often, passing less urine than usual
• Dry mouth
• Your eye’s pupil may become smaller
• Blurred or double vision
• Nightmares
