What are Isopto Plain Eye Drops?

Isopto Plain is an eye drop which provides relief from irritated or dry eyes usually associated with deficient tear production.

What is the active ingredient in Isopto Plain and how does it work?

Isopto Plain contain the active ingredient hypromellose which is contained naturally in the tears. Hypromellose acts as a lubricant that helps to moisturise the eyes, easing dryness.

It can be used for 28 days after first opening.

Warnings and Precautions

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in these drops

Do not use past the expiry date

Do not use the drops while wearing contact lenses

You may experience blurred vision after using so do not drive or operate hazardous machinery unless your vision is clear

Ingredients

Active ingredients: hypromellose 5 mg/ml.

Other ingredients: sodium citrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate anhydrous, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride and purified water.

How do I use Isopto Plain Eye Drops 10ml?

Dosage:

ONE or TWO drops in each affected eye THREE times daily

If the irritation in your eyes does not get better or gets worse after 3 days or if you start to experience headache, eye pain, vision changes or continued redness in your eyes, stop using ISOPTO PLAIN and see your GP.

What are the side effects Isopto Plain Eye Drops?

Possible side effects:

Blurred vision

eye pain

foreign body sensation in eyes

eye irritation

redness.

If you have any severe side effects stop use immediately and seek medical assitance as soon as possible.
