• Otex Ear Drops work by breaking hardened ear wax into pieces so it can fall more easily from the ear.

The active ingredient in Otex Ear Drops is urea hydrogen peroxide, this is what helps break down the ear wax into smaller pieces. 

Hardened ear wax is quite common. It can cause problems when it builds up, blocking the ear canal. This can lead to discomfort and a feeling of fullness in the ear. Use of the ear drops can make removal easier and can reduce the need for syringing. 

1. Tilt the head, and gently squeeze up to 5 drops into the ear.

2. Leave for a few minutes and then wipe the surplus with a tissue.

3. Wash hands after use.

4. Repeat once or twice daily, if necessary, for approximately 3 to 4 days whilst symptoms clear.

5. Always replace the cap after use and return the bottle to the carton.

6. Discard 4 weeks after the first opening.

Active Ingredient: Urea Hydrogen Peroxide (5%). The other ingredients are 8-hydroxyquinoline and glycerol.

• Do not use if sensitive to ingredients, if you suffer from dizziness, if there is any other ear disorder (such as pain, discharge, inflammation, infection, or tinnitus), or if anything else has been used in the ear

• Otex is not normally irritant but, in rare cases, painful episodes can occur, particularly if the ear's delicate inner lining has been damaged, broken, inflamed or infected, whereupon the use of ear drops can be painful

• Otex should therefore not be used, for example, after ill-advised mechanical efforts to dislodge wax or for 2-3 days after syringing
