Benylin Dry Cough Syrup gives relief from persistent dry and tickly coughs.

What is Benylin Dry Cough Syrup?

Benylin Dry Cough Syrup is a peach flavoured medicine for the relief of a dry and irritating cough.

With its soothing effect, it relieves persistent, unproductive coughs.

This cough syrup contains Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide.

What is Dextromethorphan hydrobromide and what does it do?

Dextromethorphan hydrobromide is a cough suppressant. It works to reduce a cough that has been caused by a cold or the flu.

Warnings and Precautions

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

• Read the package leaflet before use.

• Do not use it if the expiration date printed on the carton and bottle has passed.

DO NOT USE IF:

• You are under 12 years old.

• You are allergic to the ingredients this medicine contains.

• You have Lung disease

• You are taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)

• You are taking antidepressants

Speak to your GP or Pharmacist before use if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

• You have an underlying medical problem or are taking any other medicine or complementary therapy.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients: Each 5ml of cough syrup contains: Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 7.5mg.
 

Other ingredients: Liquid glucose, sucrose, ethanol. 
This product contains 6 vol % ethanol.

How do I take Benylin Dry Cough Syrup?

Dosage:

Take TWO 5ml spoonfuls (10ml) FOUR times daily.

Maximum daily dose 40ml. Do not take more than 4 times within 24 hours.

Not suitable for children under the age of 12.

What are the side effects of Benylin Dry Cough Syrup?

• Drowsiness.

• Dizziness.

• Blurred vision.

• Dry mouth, nose, and throat.

• Disturbances of the gut such as constipation, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain.

• Difficulty passing urine.

• Slow, shallow breathing.

• Allergic reactions such as a rash or itching. Stop using the cough syrup and get medical advice if you think you've had an allergic reaction to it.
