What is Beclometasone 50mcg Nasal Spray?

Beclometasone 50mcg Nasal Spray treats and prevents the symptoms of allergic reactions to pollens (hayfever), such as the itchy or runny nose and sneezing.

Beclometasone dipropionate 50mcg is an active ingredient that has anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce sneezing and itching associated with hay fever.

Warnings and Precautions

DO NOT USE IF:

• Do not take this product if you are allergic to beclometasone dipropionate or any of the other listed ingredients

SPEAK TO YOUR GP OR PHARMACIST BEFORE USE IF:

• You have an infection in your nose.

• You have recently had surgery on your nose.

• You have tuberculosis (TB).

• It is intended for a child. Beclometasone spray is suitable for children over the age of 6 years, but only if it has been prescribed by a doctor.

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• You are taking or using other medicines.

Ingredients:

Active ingredient: beclometasone diproprionate. 

Other ingredients: anhydrous dextrose, polysorbate 80, dispersible cellulose, benzalkonium chloride 95%, phenylethanol, and purified water.

How do I use Beclometasone 50mcg Nasal Spray?

For use in the nose ONLY

Dosage:

Adults ages 18 and over:

TWO sprays in each nostril TWICE a day. 

Do NOT exceed 8 sprays in 24 hours

• Do not take beclometasone nasal spray by mouth. Use in your nose only. Keep out of your mouth and eyes.

How to use:

• Prime pump before first use or if not used for more than 1 week.

• Shake well before use.

• Blow your nose before use.

• Close ONE nostril.

• When using, tilt your head forward a little.

• Put the nose spray tube into another nostril.

• While breathing in through the nose, press down once to release the spray.

• Breathe out from your mouth.

• Do not blow your nose for 15 minutes after you use the beclometasone nasal spray.

• Spray up the nose only. Do not spray onto the wall joining the two nostrils.

• Wipe the nozzle clean.

• Put the cap back on after you are done using it.

What are the side effects of Beclometasone 50mcg Nasal Spray?

Beclometasone nasal spray may cause side effects. Be aware not everyone will suffer from them.

Possible side effects:

• headache

• nasal irritation, stuffiness, or dryness

• sneezing

• nosebleed

• joint or muscle pain

• nausea

• lightheadedness

• unpleasant taste or smell

• muscle weakness

• bruise easily

• menstrual period changes

• acne

• white patches in your throat, mouth, or nose

Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop using the beclometasone nasal spray and speak to your GP, Pharmacist or get emergency medical treatment as soon as possible:

• wheezing

• hives

• rash

• itching

• difficulty breathing or swallowing

• swollen face, lower legs, or ankles

• vision changes
